Introduction / History

The Bantawa are one of the many indigenous people living in the eastern hilly region of Nepal. Their language is part of the Kiranti family of languages.

What Are Their Lives Like?

The Bantawa people are known for their skills as potters, weavers and craftsmen who produce goods out of bamboo. They enjoy festivals that feature their own music and dance forms.

What Are Their Beliefs?

The Bantawa people are Hindus, but they incorporate many ancient religious practices with their form of Hinduism. Hinduism has the flexibility to include practices from many religious traditions.

What Are Their Needs?

They need the Holy Spirit to open their eyes so they can see Jesus as he is.

Prayer Points

Pray for many from this unreached people group to understand both God’s judgment and his majestic glory.

Pray for loving workers to go to the Bantawa people, and for their hearts to be ready to receive their savior.

Pray for a chain reaction of families reaching families that result in thousands of new disciples who share their faith with others.

Pray for grace and truth expanding into their entire society as all believers learn to love others.
